Non-Custodial Autonomy
Lace is a non-custodial light wallet platform developed by Input Output Global (IOG) for the Cardano and Midnight ecosystems. IOG does not hold, control, or have access to your private keys, seed phrase, or funds at any time. You are solely responsible for the security of your credentials.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Source Verification
Access the official Chrome Web Store listing via lace.io. Verify the publisher is Input Output Global before proceeding.
Step 2: Add to Chrome
Click “Add to Chrome” and confirm by selecting “Add extension.” Pin the Lace icon to your toolbar for convenient access.
Step 3: Seed Phrase Setup
Upon first launch, you will be prompted to either create a new wallet or restore an existing one. Write your seed phrase down on paper and store it offline.
Step 4: Strong Password
Choose a password that protects the local extension interface. Note that this password does not replace your seed phrase.
Step 5: Network Config
For standard Cardano mainnet use, the default configuration is sufficient. For Midnight, specify a proof server address as needed.
Verify & Install
Only the official Chrome Web Store publisher, Input Output Global, distributes the Lace Wallet extension. Avoid third-party mirrors and search results to prevent phishing attacks.
